This Term we have been doing writing about speeches that we have to present to our class, but first we had to use a topic.
The Use of Plastic
Hi, my name is Jordyn and I am going to be talking about the use of plastic and how it is killing our marine life. Let's start .
Over 2 million people use plastic every minute. More than half a billion plastic straws are used every day around the world. Over half of the world´s plastic that was thrown out in 2015 was plastic packaging. That's over 141 million metric tons. For example to stop using plastic is
✏ Reduce. You should reduce your own plastic waste
✏ Reuse. Bring your own re usable shopping and produce bags to markets, and avoid using single-use plastic bags.
✏Refuse. Refuse straws: It's as simple as adding, “No straw, please” when requesting beverages at restaurants or cafes
88% of our ocean is polluted with trash. Everyday plastic bags, straws and all the plastic in the world go to our marine life. It's time to ban the bags, because they are so lightweight they can travel long distances by wind and water and they end up in our oceans causing our animals to die.
Thank you for listening to my speech. Have a great day!

20-5-19 ice cream in a bag
ice cream in a bag
My hypothesis is I think if we put the exact instruction it might or may not work because it might turn to liquid or ice cream we were wondering if it would turn to ice cream. We were doing this experiment because We want to know if we can make ice cream or liquid. Are materials were 3x plastic bags, salt, milk, ice, sugar, vanilla essence.
First We got into groups of six i was with Elizabeth, Manaia, Haley, Jasmine, McKenzie and myself :D
- Elizabeth got up and went to get a snap lock bag and fill it with vanilla essence and milk.
- Then manaia went and got a big snap lock bag and went to get two cups of ice to put into the snap lock bag with a sprinkle of salt.
- We went outside and put the bag of vanilla essence, milk, and sugar and the bag of ice and salt.
- We put the bag of vanilla and milk into another bag that was empty and then put it into the bag of ice and sealed all the bags up
- We shook the bag rapidly. But first we made sure we closed the bag tightly so it wouldn’t spill out.
- Once it was sealed tightly we had to rattled the bag around the circle it was a big mess in the bag.
our groups ice-cream turned to liquid it was Mmmmmmm…………….delightful.
some of the teams turned into ice cream and the others turned into liquid it was delicious.
in conclusion we got to eat it t was Mmmmmmm…………….delightful .
